Metronome Update Post — December 2018
As we enter the new year, the Metronome team is proud of the community’s accomplishments to date, and excited for what is to come.
Here’s where we are today:
Final Reviews of the Validator Document
With the next few weeks, the validator documentation and code will be available to the wider community. That document will outline how the validator network functions and how cross-chain transactions work. It is currently in its final stages of review with Jeff Garzik and two other additional auditors, who are also conducting the final audits of the validator and Ethereum Classic contract code. This will be available within the next 30 days.
The community’s patience for this document is deeply appreciated. The document itself has been under the same scrutiny as the code it describes. Once released, the Metronome team encourages the community to read the document and file GitHub issues to make suggestions and contribute — much like they can with any documentation on Metronome’s GitHub page.
Website Update and Community Engagement Page
The highly anticipated website revamp for Metronome.io should be going live soon as well. The overall design for the revamp has gone through many iterations, and the team has been working closely with a great web design team to keep the branding consistent with what the community is used to, all while refreshing Metronome’s look. The updated site will have a much greater focus on the continued expansion of Metronome and less focus on the Initial Supply Auction and Daily Supply Lots.
To that end, the team is happy to announce that ahead of the wider website revamp, a resource called “Engage” will appear on Metronome.io quite soon. There, you’ll find the tools for meetup organizers and community managers for setting up their own Metronome-related groups. This will include PDFs of documentation for easy sharing, icons and logos to make various designs, and past presentation slide decks so you can easily present about Metronome locally. There will also be a contact section to suggest meetups to us and, soon after launch, this page will also include a master calendar of conferences and meetups team members will attend.
Cross-chain Hop to Ethereum Classic Still set for Q1 2019
2019 will be an exciting year for the Metronome community, especially since 2019 will be the first year that a cryptocurrency truly chain-hops. As Jeff Garzik mentioned in a recent tweet, the mainnet cross-chain hop for Metronome between Ethereum and Ethereum Classic (or vice versa) is on track to take place in Q1–2019.
