This month, the Metronome team hinted at its future DeFi plans, gained an additional exchange listing and ENS address, and delivered guidance on the project’s priorities moving forward.

MET and DeFi

Metronome’s original vision as a fully autonomous, reliable, and portable cryptocurrency has helped to position it as an ideal instrument for decentralized finance. This month, Metronome’s DeFi Strategy Lead Matt Kirincic explored some of these possibilities in his Metronome Minute. He discussed the likelihood of Metronome becoming a key Layer 1 platform for decentralized settlement, and other aspects of Metronome that make it primed for use in the DeFi space. Also this month, the team demonstrated where Metronome ranks in terms of value locked in the DeFi ecosystem.

More Ways to Obtain Metronome

Metronome continued to expand its reach with a recent listing on QoinPro. Now, MET is available not only in the Metronome wallet and web portal at metronome.io, but on several other exchanges and wallets including QoinPro, Bittrex, Bilaxy, Hotbit, IDEX, Gate.io, and YoBit.

Additionally, the Metronome team recently obtained the ENS address met.eth. For those that are unfamiliar, an ENS is short for “Ethereum Naming Service” and assigns a name to a specific Ethereum smart contract to make it more easily searchable. Now, you can participate in the daily auctions on the Ethereum blockchain by sending your ETH to this ENS.

Priorities for Q1–2020

The Metronome Team has always prioritized and taken the approach of “measure twice, cut once” with regards to building out the MET system. This has necessarily meant taking a hard look at priorities. This has also meant postponing the launch of the QTUM chainhop until 2020 as we address more urgent items.

These include:

  • Upgrading Metronome’s wallet infrastructure for better sync performance
  • Additional auditing the Validator code to ensure readiness for three-or-more chains, and
  • Upgrading the wallet core and testing its readiness to accommodate QTUM.

We are excited to continually be working with the both our team and the broader Metronome community to make this cryptocurrency more efficient and primed for the future. Thank you for riding along with us on this journey.

More to come,

The Metronome Team
