In April, the Metronome team continued testing cross-chain capability, along with preparing for Coindesk’s Consensus in NYC this May.

Validator and Chainhop Testing

As Metronome’s chief designer Jeff Garzik noted in one of his visits to the Metronome Telegram community, there are important considerations when picking initial validators. The goal is to get to a point of decentralization where the community doesn’t need to trust the team or the validators chosen, by opening up the validator process to everyone.

That said, the Metronome team is pleased to report that continued testing and auditing of the Ethereum Classic contracts, the Qtum contracts, and the validator code is going well. Chainhop is on track for Q2, 2019, and the team is looking into additional chains as targets.

Team members will be showing off the testnet chainhops at Consensus 2019 in NYC. While we’re on the topic…

Metronome at Consensus

During Consensus 2019, Metronome will have a booth in the Bloq private room. (Clinton Suite, 2nd Floor, New York Midtown Hilton.) There, attendees can meet Dariusz, Bloq’s head of community and active Metronome community moderator, learn about Metronome, see the chainhop on the ETH/ETC test nets, and view live demonstrations of the Autonomous Converter Contract.

Additionally, Jeff will present Metronome on the Consensus Construct stage with Manoj Patidar, providing the first public in-depth tour of Metronome’s code base — a half presentation, half workshop format. Created for Construct’s developer audience, the session will give some MET and ETH to provide session attendees with hands-on experience with Metronome.

So be sure to come by and speak with the team, see the talk, and get some Metronome swag. Hope to see you there,

-The Metronome Team
