Metronome Minute: Ryan Condron
Metronome is led by some of the most respected names in cryptocurrency: Chief Architect, Jeff Garzik, Chairman and co-founder, Matthew Roszak, and Chief Cryptographer, Peter Vessenes. They and the rest of the Metronome team envisioned this new cryptocurrency. This series gives a brief profile on other members of the talented team behind Metronome.
Ryan Condron is Metronome’s Principal Engineer. He is well versed in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, with years of experience and a passion for driving the category forward.
Q: Ryan, what is your role on the Metronome Team?
A: I am a software engineer who has been working in the crypto space since 2012. I am one of the principal engineers on the Metronome project.
Q: What is most exciting to you about Metronome?
A: Several features that we are building into the main contracts are really exciting. The obvious ones are the daily auction distribution model alongside an exchange contract that gives you instant supply back into the host token.
From a technical side the export/import functions that we are working on are very exciting since we are essentially addressing a lot of the same problems that other teams/projects are trying to currently solve.
The logistics of connecting two independent blockchains together in some fashion has been a vision of many in the community for a long time and it’s very exciting to offer a token that can actually accomplish it.
Q: What has been the greatest challenge to bringing Metronome to life?
A: Testing, testing, testing… Unlike other cryptocurrencies, MTN’s core behavior/functionality will be pretty much locked in stone once the contracts are launched.
Because of this finality at launch we have to test and retest every possible vector we can think of to ensure a high quality, durable token. We also have multiple independent auditors focused on this as well.
Q: What do you hope will be the most-used application for Metronome?
A: I would love to see the mass payment functionality put to good use through something like royalty payouts or business payroll processing.
Q: Where will you be when the auction starts?
A: Hopefully somewhere warm with good food, and of course the amazing teams from Bloq and New Alchemy.
