Metronome Minute: Manoj Patidar
Metronome is led by some of the most respected names in cryptocurrency: Chief Architect, Jeff Garzik, Chairman and co-founder, Matthew Roszak, and Chief Cryptographer, Peter Vessenes. This series gives a brief profile on the talented team behind Metronome.
Manoj is one of the New Alchemy developers working on and stress-testing Metronome’s smart contracts.
Q. Manoj, who are you and what is your role on the Metronome team?
I am a technology enthusiast. I have a wide range of experience in various technologies and enjoy working on the latest technology has to offer. This is why I enjoy working for New Alchemy so much. I have worked as a technology lead, an architect and a developer on various complex projects. Metronome is one of them.
I contributed to Metronome smart contract development and have also designed test framework for Metronome to ensure everything works perfectly. I am proud to be part of the Metronome team and to be one of the many auditors and individuals pressure-testing this new cryptocurrency to make sure it works as intended at launch.
Q. What has excited you most about the Metronome project?
Metronome has some outstanding features like self-governance, the autonomous converter, and subscriptions payments. With its self-governing and autonomous features, the price of Metronome may be resistant to human manipulation. Another interesting aspect is the subscriptions payment, which allows users to subscribe for recurring payment. We haven’t seen that in cryptocurrency, and it is something the space has needed.
Q. What has been the greatest challenge in bringing this new currency to life?
I believe the greatest challenge in creating a lasting currency was building the minting schedule through daily reverse auctions. Developing the code correctly and soundly to accommodate Metronome’s behaviors was both challenging and rewarding. Ultimately, the Metronome team was successful in creating the algorithm which ensures that mintage of Metronome will never go to zero.
Q. What do you hope will be the most-used application for Metronome?
I believe its subscription function may be its most used feature. This is a unique and new aspect in the blockchain space and could pave the way for cryptocurrencies being used more frequently as actual currencies. There is a lot of subscription based content in the world, and you should be able to pay for it with cryptocurrency.
Q. Where will you be when the auction starts?
I will be on metronome.io and excitedly viewing how purchasers participate in Initial Supply Auction. I will also be online to support and answer technical queries of Metronome purchasers.
The Metronome team is proud of all its talented and knowledgeable members and appreciates the contributions they make. To contribute to the discussion, join Metronome’s Telegram. For the latest news, and next Metronome Minute article, be sure to follow Metronome on Twitter.
