Metronome, Messari, and Transparency
Cryptocurrency and the blockchain industry has long suffered from a largely unfair allegation that it is inherently fraudulent and insufficiently transparent. Unfortunately for the industry, mainstream media and regulators have had a fair amount of ammunition. The need for a place where good actors in the space can differentiate themselves was obvious.
Enter the Messari Disclosures Registry, a curated registry where participants have their teams, metrics, and claims sized up against what one could consider the “Gold Standard” for sorting between good and bad actors.
Metronome was among the very first cohort verified against the Messari transparency index, for which the team is immensely proud. The Messari Disclosures Registry’s search for transparency aligns with the Metronome ethos of autonomous, self-governance, and transparency.
But what exactly does this mean for Metronome, and its community?
With all things, when building Metronome, the team was obsessed with getting it right, which means doing it differently than many. This meant ensuring that we could provide the community with the best possible insight into how Metronome operates and how it was launched.
To that end, the team was keen to work with Messari and their disclosure registry once hearing about it. The process put Metronome up against Messari’s standardized test for determining the truthfulness and completeness in the project’s transparency — a gold standard for due diligence and research.
The team is a proud launch member of the Messari Disclosures Registry, and are looking for even more ways to help improve and inform their standard. We believe, as a founding cohort member, it is incumbent upon the team to strive to improve it and lead by example.
Messari Disclosures Registry has worked to add other projects to its index, making it more robust. While Messari adds more projects, they do not dilute the quality of their research and due diligence.
